Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat, widely known for his remarkable performances in blockbuster films like Ghajini and Lagaan, has passed away at the age of 74. He breathed his last following a battle with cancer.

Rawat built a legendary reputation in Indian cinema as one of its most memorable screen villains and character actors. He first won the hearts of television audiences nationwide by portraying the powerful role of Ashwatthama in B.R. Chopra’s iconic 1988 series Mahabharat. He later left an indelible mark on the big screen, playing the ruthless antagonist in both the Tamil original and the Hindi remake of Ghajini, as well as the fierce sepoy Deva in the Oscar-nominated period drama Lagaan.
