Waheeda Rehman expressed that she never expected to be honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Waheeda Rehman was all happy to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year. It was declared by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, on Tuesday. The veteran actress responded to this as an honor and considered it a “double celebration” as it coincided with the 100th birth anniversary of her Guide co-star, Dev Anand.

In an interview with PTI, Waheeda shared that she hadn’t anticipated receiving the award, given her limited recent filmography. The actress said, ‘I’m not working these days. I don’t expect anything, I never expect any award. I think, ‘milna hai toh milega’, if they think it is right for me I’ll get it, that’s all.”
