Mary Kom is based on life story of  Indian boxer Mary Kom, who is five time world Champion and Olympian. In this movie Priyanka is playing a character of Mary Kom. Movie is based on life story of Mary Kom which showcase hurdle faced by Mary Kom in way of becoming first Indian lady boxer. Movie is being directed by  Omung Kumar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali,  a story and screenplay written by Saiwyn Quadras. Rob Miller of Reel Sports, the sports action director of movies like Chak De India and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has given action direction in movie. Movie is all set to release on  5th September 2014 apart from release movie will have a premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival which will take place from  4^th September to 11^th September 2014
