Celebrities like Kartik Aaryan, Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor, and many others have teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), India, promoting healthy and meat free meals. Yesterday, on the occasion of Earth Day, the former beauty queen Manushi Chhillar joined the team. She features in the new PETA campaign and encouraged everyone to give up eating meat, and try to become a vegetarian

She said that she has turned vegetarian a long time back and it was her personal choice. She said, “For me, staying vegetarian was a personal choice that I made long back. I also wanted to concentrate on how that impacts my overall fitness. Food is a personal choice and we must eat what we feel is best for us, but my friends at PETA India and I encourage everyone to give being vegetarian a try for Earth Day and beyond if they so choose,”

She further said that eating vegetarian food will not only be healthy for themselves but also are lid to plant and animals. The PETA campaign featured her wearing a crown made up of broccoli, asparagus, and tomatoes.

“I encourage everyone to give them a try for Earth Day and beyond,” Manushi concluded.
