Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 is a film for both children and adults and not only for the latter

In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar expressed his disappointment that his latest film, OMG 2, was given an “adults only” certificate by the censor board. He said that the film is actually made for children, but that they won’t be able to see it because of the certificate.

Kumar also revealed that OMG 2 is based on a real-life incident in which a child was expelled from school for masturbating. He said that he wanted to make a film that would raise awareness about sex education and masturbation, and that he believes that these topics are important for children to learn about.

Akshay said that money is not the goal when he makes a film with a social subject. “It is my way of giving back to my society. I know if I do one Singh is Kinng, or Sooryavanshi, or Rowdy Rathore, I will make 3-4 times more,” he told ANI. To this he also added that he can make light hearted movies and get good returns, but he chooses to produce movies conveying sound social message like “Padman”, “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” and “Airlift”. “It’s not about money. I know the business isn’t even that much but it’s not about the business,” he said.

The actor then asked, “Has anyone dared to make a film about masturbation and sex education? You tell me if anyone has made any film on this, either here or in Hollywood.” “OMG 2” is a father-son story aiming at teenagers, and tackling sensitive topics like masturbation and sex education.
