Young Kriti! See her pre-film modeling days

Kriti Sanon began her career as a model before making her acting debut in the 2014 action films “1: Nenokkadine” (Telugu) and “Heropanti” (Hindi). Standing at 5’10”, the model appeared in commercials and walked the ramp at fashion shows for renowned designers while studying at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in Noida.

Before her big-screen success, Kriti’s modelling journey started with a print shoot for Reliance Trends. She also graced the runway at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in 2010. In an interview from that time, Kriti, a fresh model, expressed her belief that Indian models were “more elegant” than their Western counterparts.

Over the years, old photos of a young Kriti have been shared on various online platforms, including Reddit, YouTube, and Instagram. Kriti has also spoken openly about the challenges she faced during her modelling days, recounting an incident where she was scolded in front of everyone during a rehearsal, leaving her feeling humiliated and leading her to cry on the auto rickshaw ride home.

Kriti’s journey from those early modelling days to becoming a showstopper at the FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week in 2022 has been remarkable, showcasing her growth and success in the entertainment industry. “I used to take it way too seriously earlier, now I just have fun- that’s what changed. Now I know what’s a head ramp, I know what a twirl means, I know what those things are. I’ve learnt over time. I have realised that if you really enjoy it, that’s what people will see,” she said in an interview.
