Veer Pahariya, who is making his Bollywood debut in the film Sky Force, recently met the family of Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, the war hero who inspired his role. This meeting took place in Bengaluru, where Veer spent time with Devayya’s 90-year-old wife, Sundari, and their daughters, Smitha and Preetha.
Veer shared his experience on social media, expressing how meeting the family left him deeply moved and humbled. He mentioned that, despite studying Devayya’s life for over three years to prepare for his role, hearing personal stories from the family gave him a deeper understanding of the hero’s bravery and sacrifice.
In his post, Veer highlighted the enduring love between Sundari and her late husband, noting that even at 90, her strength and hope are remarkable. He also spoke about the pride with which their daughters shared stories of their father’s courage, kindness, and sense of duty. This encounter reinforced Veer’s commitment to honor Devayya’s legacy through his portrayal in Sky Force.
Sky Force, set to release on January 24, 2025, is a war film that also stars Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. The film aims to bring to light the stories of India’s war heroes, with Veer’s character inspired by Squadron Leader Devayya, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his bravery.
Veer’s meeting with the Devayya family has added a profound personal connection to his role, and he hopes to make them, and all Indians, proud with his performance in Sky Force.
