Throwback Tuesdays: When Shah Rukh Khan eyed for Kohli biopic and Anushka’s reply cracked him up

Shah Rukh Khan, the versatile actor, has the ability to effortlessly portray any character. From an angelic figure in Kal Ho Naa Ho to a heartbroken alcoholic in Devdas, he immerses himself completely in each role. His talent extends to sports films, as demonstrated in Chak De! India. Considering his love for cricket, it would be fascinating to see him play the game on screen.

King Khan’s fondness for cricket is well-known, as he is a co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL team. He holds great respect for cricketers and often congratulates other IPL teams on their victories. During the promotion of his film Jab Harry Met Sejal in 2017, he expressed his desire to portray Virat Kohli, an Indian cricketer, in a movie. Anushka Sharma,  SRK’s co-star, jokingly added that he would need to grow a beard for the role.

To Anushka Sharma’s hilarious reply, SRK responded, “But I had grown a beard. In Harry Met Sejal, I looked just like Virat Kohli. Exactly like him.” Isn’t that a cute answer?

Often, Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli have expressed their mutual admiration for each other. Whether it’s at the stadium or on social media, they always have good things to say about each other. Virat’s wife and actress, Anushka Sharma, is also a good friend of Shah Rukh. So it makes sense that she gave such a funny reaction.

While a biopic on Virat Kohli might not be in the cards for now, it’s heartening to see Shah Rukh Khan’s appreciation for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricketer. Both Khan and Kohli have frequently expressed their admiration for one another, whether it’s at the stadium or on social media.

 Additionally, Kohli’s wife,  Anushka Sharma, shares a close friendship with SRK. Hence, it’s no surprise that she provided a humorous response in reaction to Khan’s desire to play Kohli on screen.
