Throwback Tuesday: Do you know Varun Dhawan declined Shraddha Kapoor’s proposal after she confessed her feelings for him

Welcome again to our throwback Tuesday section. Well, today we will take you back in time when Shraddha Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor’s daughter, and Varun Dhawan, David Dhawan’s son were kids.

Bollywood might be full of love stories, some ending in weddings, some not. But today, we’re digging up a cute throwback from Shraddha Kapoor. Turns out, back in their childhood days, she had a major crush on Varun Dhawan, her co-star in “ABCD 2”.

Their dads, David Dhawan and Shakti Kapoor, often worked together, so little Shraddha and Varun would hang out on film sets. Years later, they reunited as adults in “ABCD 2”. On the show Nach Baliye 7, Shraddha even revealed that she once confessed her feelings to Varun.

In the viral video, Shraddha Kapoor was heard saying, “I told him, Varun, main apse kuch kahungi and you have to make it straight. I will say it in reverse.” Young Shraddha confessed her crush with a “You Love I,” but Varun just gave her a straight “no!”

Shraddha Kapoor said on the Dance reality show, “I was only eight, and I had a crush on Varun. So, I thought I should just tell him. I decided to say ‘I love you’ backwards. So, I told Varun that I am saying a sentence backwards, and he must listen carefully. Then I said ‘You – love -I’. I think it was too complicated for a little boy to understand because he gave me a stern ‘No’, and just ran away from there. It’s been a joke between us ever since.”

Though their paths haven’t crossed romantically, it’s a sweet story of a childhood crush blossoming on the big screen.
