Throwback Tuesday: Do you know there was a time when  Ajay Devgn denied SRK’s request for Kajol to co-star

Kajol and Ajay Devgn are an example of opposites attracting. They met on the set of a movie called Hulchul in 1993 and initially didn’t like each other. Despite this, their friendship blossomed into love over time. Kajol was known for her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan on-screen, which made fans want them to be together, even though Shah Rukh was already married. 

Ajay Devgn struggled to replicate this chemistry with Kajol in their movies together, leading to rumors that he didn’t want her to work with Shah Rukh Khan anymore. There was even a story where Shah Rukh Khan had to ask Ajay Devgn for permission for Kajol to work with him in a film. Ajay Devgn declined, citing the hate emails he and Kajol received daily, suggesting they should divorce so she could be with Shah Rukh Khan. 

Although this story seemed immature, India Forums approached Shah Rukh Khan for his perspective on the matter. SRK was quoted by the platform, “First, I didn’t really care about them because people just do stupid stuff, but when I approached Kajol, Ajay told me all about it, so I told him about this, the emails my wife got.” The report further said, “Ajay and Shahrukh were quite upset about this, but now things seem to be working out. Kajol may not work with him again.”

While it’s uncertain if this occurred, given fans’ intensity, it could have some truth. Fortunately, everyone seems content now. It’s hoped Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol join forces again, and Ajay Devgn and Kajol continue to captivate audiences with their real-life chemistry, being a beloved couple.
