Renowned filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, celebrated for thrillers like Kahaani and Badla, has reportedly stepped down from directing Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film, King. Initially, Ghosh was set to helm this crime drama, which also marks the theatrical debut of Suhana Khan, alongside Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist. Recent reports suggest that Siddharth Anand, known for directing Pathaan, will now take over the project.
Following Ghosh’s departure from King, rumors emerged about a potential collaboration between him and actor Shahid Kapoor for a new thriller. Sources indicated that both were keen to align their schedules to bring the project to fruition. However, Kapoor’s team has officially denied these claims, stating that no such collaboration is in the works.
Shahid Kapoor, known for his versatility, has a history of engaging in thriller genres, with notable performances in films like Fida, 36 China Town, and Haider. He is currently focused on his upcoming projects, including Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, set to release in January 2025.
