Shweta Basu Making Her Directorial Debut With Documentary “Roots”

Shweta Basu who made her debut in movie as child artist, had turned into direction as she has made a documentary named “Roots”.

She made her debut in Makkde in 2002 when she was just 11 years old kid, she played dual role in “Makkde”. After Makkde she was seen in “Iqbal” both of her movies received great response, as child actress she received great applause from critics and audience, she has also shown her acting talent in Telugu movies.

Though we have seen her talent as kid in movie, but this time you will showcase her brilliance as director as she has directed a documentary named as “Roots”. In this movie she has showcased declining visibility of Hindustani Classical music.

While talking about her documentary with media, she added that from past  3 years she was  working on “Roots” this was the reason she was not seen on silver screen from past few years. Being a music and art student, I always had a dream of making movie on Hindustani Music getting vanish from our country. She added apart from being an actress she is a well trained Sitar player, therefore she have great respect towards classical music. Through this documentary she want to create awareness towards youngsters about our traditional and classic Hindustani Music, which is vanishing from our country.
