Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra Record Mumbai Police Statements in ₹60 Crore Fraud Investigation
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra have recorded their statements with Mumbai Police in connection
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra have recorded their statements with Mumbai Police in connection with an alleged ₹60 crore investment fraud case. Raj Kundra will be summoned again by Mumbai Police next week for further interrogation, according to recent reports.
The case was registered at Juhu police station on August 14, 2025, following a complaint by Mumbai-based businessman Deepak Kothari. The complainant alleges that he gave ₹60 crore to the couple between 2015 and 2023 as loans and investments, but the amount was allegedly used for their personal expenses.
Kothari claims that funds allocated for corporate expansion between 2015 and 2023 were actually spent on personal spending. Kothari, who is the director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, claims he was introduced to Shetty and Kundra through a mutual acquaintance.
The seriousness of the case is evident as Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing has issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against the couple, preventing them from leaving the country during the ongoing investigation. This development marks a significant legal challenge for the celebrity couple, who must now navigate the complex legal proceedings while the investigation continues.
The case highlights growing scrutiny of celebrity business dealings and investment practices in the entertainment industry.
