Rhea Chakrobarty who was arrested by NCB on 8th September and put behind bars at Byculla Woman’s jail, has now been shifted to separate jail considering security reasons.
Rhea was arrested by NCB in different sections of NDPS act. She was grilled by NCB for three consecutive days for investigation after which NCB arrested her.
According to report on Tuesday she was arrested by NCB, later she was taken for medical examination and sent to jail.
According to report Republic TV disclosed Rhea is stationed in is similar to that of the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea. In her bail application it’s been mentioned she was forced into making incriminatory claims. She further said “There was not a single lady officer who interrogated the present applicant as mandated by law. According to judgment passed by The Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Sheela Barse VS State Maharashtra, has held that the interrogation of females should be carried out only in the presence of a female police officer/constable,”
Recently Rhea”s Lawyer filed bail application in session court but court rejected bail, and now her lawyer moved bail application in special court, which will be heard today. After which it will be decided will special court grant her bail or send her on remand for further investigation.
