Sholay 3 D version seems to be getting into controversy. According to reports Ramesh Sippy Producer and director of Sholay approached Supreme Court yesterday to put stay on the release of Sholay’s 3 D version. In his petition he has made his nephews party over a copyright row.
According to reports matter was handover to Bench Led by Chief Justice P Sathasivam for getting stay; therefore the matter was fixed for hearing today. According to reports advocate of Ramesh Sippy prayed for urgent hearing as movie was set for release on 3rd January 2014.
According to reports Ramesh Sippy approached Supreme Court to challenge order passed by Bombay High Court, in which stay was not granted by the Court.
According to reports in High Court Ramesh Sippy affirmed his ownership of copyright added that his nephews were guilty for violation of his copyright by releasing movie in 3D version. According to reports Ramesh challenged a gift deed which was made in September 2000, in which he sold all right of Sholay to his nephews company, and there after his nephews sold 3 D rights to Jayantilal Gada’s company to produce Sholay in 3D version.
