It’s big relief for Priyanka Chopra as Delhi High Court refused to stay release of actress upcoming project “The White Tiger”.
Upcoming project is all set to release on OTT platform Netflix.
According to report Delhi High Court has dismissed interim relief to Hollywood filmmaker John Hart Jr who filed petition in court seeking to stay the release of the film ‘The White Tiger’ on Over The Top (OTT) platform Netflix.
According to report hearing took place yesterday. According to sources in a single-judge bench of Justice C Hari Shankar proceedings took Judge asked defendants including the film producer and Netflix to keep detailed accounts of earnings from the film.
In case the plaintiffs succeeded later in their suits then it would be possible re-compensate them, the court said. The court was hearing a suit filed by plaintiff Hart and Sonia Mudbhatkal.
During the hearing advocate of plaintiff Kapil Sankhla revealed in court that Hart had copyrights make a movie adaptation of the book “The White Tiger” in March 2009 and Mudbhatkal had contacted Hart to launch her production career with the book.
According to report plaintiff approached court complaining that breach of contract under copyright violations has been done by defendant. However during hearing court said without any documents it’s not fisible to find that defendants have infringed the copyright of plaintiffs.
Interim relief to plaintiff was dismissed taking into consideration that advocate of defendant Sandeep Sethi said if release of the film is stayed then it would result in irreparable loss for the defendants.
