President Droupadi Murmu called his death “a great loss to Indian cinema” and honored his decades-long career. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described his passing as “the end of an era in Indian cinema,” praising him as a legendary performer known for his simplicity and warmth.
Known as Bollywood’s “He-Man,” Dharmendra worked in over 300 films during his 65-year career. He starred in memorable movies like Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, and Chupke Chupke. After recovering, he returned home but sadly passed away days before his 90th birthday on December 8.

His last rites were performed at Pawan Hans crematorium in the presence of close family members. Sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, along with wife Hema Malini and daughters Esha and Ahana Deol, mourned his loss. His final film, Ikkis, a war drama, is scheduled for release on December 25, 2025.
