Parliament Honors ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ with Special Screening

The Indian Parliament has officially recognized the animated film “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” for its cultural and artistic significance. A special screening is scheduled for February 15, 2025, at the Parliament House, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other dignitaries in attendance.

This initiative follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mention of the film in his “Mann Ki Baat” address, highlighting its importance in promoting India’s rich heritage. The screening aims to deepen appreciation for the Ramayana’s timeless values and their relevance to Indian traditions and spirituality.

Arjun Aggarwal, co-founder of Geek Pictures, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that the event celebrates India’s rich heritage and the enduring story of the Ramayana.

Originally released in 1993, “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” is a Japanese-Indian collaboration that uniquely presents the epic tale. The film was re-released in 4K resolution on January 24, 2025, in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English, making it accessible to a broader audience.

The upcoming parliamentary screening underscores the film’s enduring impact and its role in strengthening cultural ties between India and Japan.
