Pankaj Kapur in Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s next

Award-winning film Lahore directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and now he wil start shooting across western India for his upcoming project

And while the acclaimed director is keeping the cast and the title of his next strictly under wraps,  from sources that  Pankaj Kapur and Pakistani super model Mehreen Syed  play the lead role in the film. The film will be shot in Delhi, Gujarat and a couple of international locations.

A source close to the filmmaker corroborated the news and said, “Like Lahore,this film too has Indo-Pak leanings. In fact, for a long time, Pankaj Kapur himself wanted to make a film like this but instead ended up making Mausam. Chauhan surprised him with the script and Pankaj accepted the role.”

The source said people are not aware that at one time, India and Pakistan were almost on the verge of a nuclear war. “Such little known facts and back channel diplomacy are what the film addresses,”

Apparently, Sanjay searched high and low across the sub-continent for the cast of his film.”He has finalised six well known actors from Pakistan, a Bangladeshi actor apart from known actors from the Tamil and Telugu industry,” Sanjay is also negotiating with some known actors from Hindi cinema to star in the film and will be ready with the names in a week’s time before he goes on floors, according to the source.
