Not Yami Gautam but Mrunal Thakur will play the leading lady in Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka

Actor Kartik Aaryan unveiled the title and the first look of his upcoming film Dhamaka on his birthday i.e. November 22. Then recently, taking to his Twitter account, he had announced that he will start shooting for the Ram Madhvani directorial in the coming week. As per our earlier report, Yami Gautam was roped in to play Kartik’s leading lady in this intense movie. But now we have a new update on this front. Yami is no longer the part of the project anymore. The latest reports say that director Ram Madhvani and producer Ronnie Screwvala have signed Mrunal Thakur to play the leading lady in this much-awaited film. This is the first time that the actors will be paired together.

A source close to the development informed, “Yami’s Dhamaka’s dates were clashing with Bhoot Police which also features Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez, which is why she had to bow out of the former movie. Mrunal plays Kartik’s ex-girlfriend in Dhamaka”.

A major part will shot at a five-star hotel in Powai and Kartik has already reached the location. “Kartik will start shooting for Dhamaka from December 15. However, he has already stationed himself at the hotel and has started prepping for the film. Mrunal too is expected to join the team in a day or two,” adds the source.

The shooting of the film is expected to finish in January next year.
