No Gangs of Wasseypur 3, confirms Anurag Kashyap

Fans have been eagerly waiting for a third installment of the iconic Gangs of Wasseypur series. However, director Anurag Kashyap has put an end to all speculations. In a recent interview, he clearly stated that there will be no Gangs of Wasseypur 3. 

The filmmaker explained that he is not interested in creating a ‘Wasseypur universe’ and wants to explore new stories. “Nahi aayegi. Mujhe koi Wasseypur universe nahi banana. Businessmen alag sochte hain. Har cheez ka universe bann raha hai na aaj kal. Mujhe kuch nahi banana. Mujhe apni bohot saari alag alag filme banani hain. (No, it won’t come. I don’t want to create a Wasseypur universe. Businessmen have a different way of thinking. Everything is being turned into a universe. I am not chasing that. Instead, I want to make a different variety of films and tell different stories),” he said. While this news might disappoint many, Kashyap’s decision to focus on fresh projects is understandable. 

The original two parts are considered cult classics, and it might be challenging to live up to the expectations of a third film.
