Nitanshi Goel shares Aamir Khan’s golden advice

Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Ranta, and Nitanshi Goel gained widespread recognition after starring in Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. The critically acclaimed film is India’s official entry for the Oscars 2025 in the Best International Feature Film category. The trio recently joined Filmfare’s Editor-in-Chief, Jitesh Pillaai, for an exclusive interview on In The Ring With Filmfare. 

During the conversation, Nitanshi Goel shared a memorable piece of advice she received from Aamir Khan, the film’s producer. Nitanshi, who started working on the film at just 14, recalled her first meeting with Aamir and Kiran Rao after her audition. She was invited for lunch and felt nervous initially. However, Aamir Khan’s warm nature put her at ease. She said, “He told me, ‘You don’t have to be perfect. Be yourself, and people will love you for it.’” This advice stayed with her and helps her feel confident during interviews or important meetings.

In the film, Nitanshi plays Phool, a child bride who gets lost on her way to her in-laws’ house and is mistakenly exchanged with Jaya (Pratibha Ranta). Together, they navigate challenges to find their way back. Laapataa Ladies continues to receive praise globally.
