New producer on the circuit: Neeru Bajwa

The number one actress of Punjabi cinema, Neeru Bajwa has turned producer. After being around in the Punjabi industry for some years now,

Neeru decided to take up production herself to, “Empower women in Punjab with good, relatable roles and also to provide good, quality cinema in Punjab,” as she put it.

 Neeru cast an obvious choice for her male lead actor in Diljit Dosanjh, her co-star in the hit film Jatt & Juliet, which is also in the making of a sequel Jatt & Juliet 2, besides other films like Mel Karade Rabba and Jihne Mera Dil Luteya. However, the surprise element in her production was singer, actor Gurdas Maan.

 “I am so honoured that Gurdasji accepted my proposal to act in my film. He is the founding pillar of Punjabi Cienma without whom no project can be successful,” said Neeru.

The film is expected to release next summer and will be directed by Pankaj Batra who directed the Virsa and is currently directing Naughty Jatts.
