Netflix Head in trouble over latest series IC 814 : The Kandahar Hijack controversy, yes you heard right according to report Information & Broadcasting Ministry sent summons to Netflix Head.

According to report on going web series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, sparked controversy over the depiction of the hijackers’ identities.

Information & Broadcasting Ministry has asked content head of Netflix appear on 3rd September.

According to disclaimer on going Anubhav Sinha’s directorial project IC 814 Hijack is based on true event of hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 in 1999.

Person involved in Hijacking was identified as Ibrahim Athar, Shahid Akhtar Sayed, Sunny Ahmed Qazi, Zahoor Mistry, and Shakir.

Hijackers demanded the release of militants in exchange for the safety of the passengers.

According to report series went into controversy for misleading viewers as IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, the terrorists are portrayed using the names ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar,’ with one even calling himself ‘Burger.’ This discrepancy has led to a significant backlash on social media, with many viewers accusing the show of distorting historical facts and potentially misleading the audience, on other hand some viewers are urging that names used by terrorist ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar’ were actually codenames used by the hijackers during the operation, there is a growing demand for greater clarity from the show’s creators.

While defending IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack makers came forward and claimed that on going Web series presents a gripping and true account of the events. They stated that the series focuses on the human drama and the challenges faced by those involved in the hijacking.

Now we have to wait how Netflix will reply to I & B Ministry, will it succed in convincing or show will goes on hault.
