Murad Khetani bags the rights of Hindi remake of Master defeating KJo

Bollywood producers are set out on a race whenever a South film does massive numbers. The latest south Indian movie to excel was Vijay Sethupathi and Thalapathy Vijay’s Master. And this time, for its Hindi remake, the race was between the maker of Kabir Singh, Murad Khetaniand Dharma head honcho Karan Johar. Along with that, the remake rights also involved a significant amount.

Masters involved two big South superstars against each other directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It was although released amid the pandemic crisis but managed to earn 35 crores in a day. According to recent updates, Khetani has bagged the rights of Hindi remakes of this one at 6 crores.

A source close to the development said, “Karan Johar was also trying to get the rights to make Master in Hindi. He was trying really hard but when Murad got a hang of it, he quietly raised his price and bagged the deal.”
