Maidaan maker gave shocking statement about having doubt on Ajay Devgn for playing role of Coach Syed in Maidaan.

Recently Maidaan maker Amit Sharma revealed he had doubt on Ajay Devgan but once Ajay entered into character there was no Singham only Syed.

Well Ajay in Maidaan easing role of coach Syed Abdul Rahim, showcases the coach’s emotional journey. According to report Devgn’s performance impressed Sharma, shedding doubts about the casting.

Upcoming biopic Maidaan is based on the life story of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Syed Abdul Rahim was the coach of the Indian football team during its golden era from 1952 to 1962, and any discrepancy could cost the makers a lot.

According to report Amit Sharma recently revealed he had an image crisis to imagine Ajay Devgn portraying Syed, but since the film is about the coach’s ‘emotional’ journey, no one but Devgn could’ve done the part. Filmmaker further added However, it was broken once they started filming. “He would keep the stardom of Ajay Devgn outside the set. Once in, he would be Syed. His performance in the film is incredible,”

Opening about how Ajay Devgn effortlessly entered into Syed’s character he added, “When we started having conversations about him, I remember at one point he was standing like the way Ajay Devgn does, with swagger, and by the end of it, he was standing like Syed. Simple, slightly bent. There was no Singham, only Syed.”

Movie is all set to release on April 10th.
