Madhur Bhandarkar Praises Priyanka and Kareena

Acclaimed filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar recently shared a surprising revelation about the leading actresses in his films, Fashion and Heroine. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Kareena Kapoor Khan both reduced their market prices to work with him on these projects. Speaking about Priyanka and Kareena he said, “Even Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor slashed their fees. They didn’t charge the market price from me because they were keen on making these movies. The entire film was resting on their shoulders so everybody slashed their prices.” 

Bhandarkar explained that due to budget constraints, he often had to rely on the cooperation of his actresses. He mentioned that Tabu worked for free in Chandni Bar, taking payment only for the film’s distribution rights in Bombay and Delhi. Raveena Tandon and Bipasha Basu also lowered their fees for their respective films, Satta and Corporate. 

Bhandarkar expressed his gratitude to these actresses for their dedication and willingness to prioritize the film’s success over personal financial gain. He emphasized that their decision to reduce their fees was crucial in making these movies possible.

Madhur, known for his realistic portrayal of women in his films, has always been a vocal supporter of female-centric projects. He has often praised the performances of actresses like Priyanka and Kareena, who have consistently challenged norms and broken stereotypes.
