The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is a sequel to the 2023 hit The Kerala Story. Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, it stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha. The story follows three Hindu girls trapped in relationships that lead to forced conversions and manipulation, shifting from Kerala to places like Rajasthan. It promises a bolder narrative where victims fight back, with the slogan “Ab Sahenge Nahi… Ladenge!” (We won’t tolerate anymore… We’ll fight!).
Release Delay
The film was set for theatrical release today, February 27, 2026, after getting a UA16+ certificate. But on February 25, the Kerala High Court issued an interim stay, halting the launch for at least 15 days. This came after petitions questioned the censor board’s certification, calling the issues “probably genuine.” The court noted limited time to review before the premiere.
Current Legal Step
Now, the High Court is considering an appeal by filmmakers against this hold order. The case highlights debates over the film’s sensitive content on religious conversions, echoing controversies from the first film. No final decision yet, but it affects the buzz from the trailer’s strong online response.
