Kangana Ranaut has suggested she may leave Bollywood if she wins a seat in the Lok Sabha elections. In a recent interview, the actress admitted that she may transition into active politics, as she sees the Hindi film industry as “fake”. When asked if she would quit Bollywood if elected, Kangana, who played the lead role in the movie The Emergency, indicated that she is considering this possibility.
This announcement comes as Kangana is contemplating a political move, potentially running for the Mandi constituency in the upcoming elections. She replied, “Yes.” Kangana further opined, “The film world is a lie, everything there is fake. They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world like a fake bubble which is to attract the audience. This is the reality. I am a very passionate person. I never wanted to do a job because I had to. Even in films I start writing, and when I get bored of playing a role, I direct or produce, so I have a very fertile mind and I want to be passionately engaged.”
Kangana Ranaut is making her political debut by contesting the upcoming elections from her hometown Mandi, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party. She rose to fame in Bollywood with films like Gangster, Queen, Tanu Weds Manu, and its sequel.
Kangana’s directorial venture, Emergency, based on the 1975-1977 period when Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency, has been delayed. She is also working on other projects, including Sita: The Incarnation, Noti Binodini, and an untitled thriller with R Madhavan.
