Janhvi channels Zendaya’s style for Mr. & Mrs. Mahi promos

Janhvi Kapoor, the actor who recently released the trailer of her upcoming film “Mr & Mrs Mahi,” has openly acknowledged that she has been heavily influenced by Zendaya’s fashion choices. During the promotions of Zendaya’s films “Dune 2” and “Challengers,” Janhvi has been closely following the American actress’s style and is now trying to emulate it for her own film’s promotional activities.

In a recent “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session on her Instagram Stories, a fan directly asked Janhvi if she was copying Zendaya’s fashion. Janhvi did not shy away from the question and readily admitted that she is indeed “heavily inspired” by Zendaya’s looks and is making an effort to incorporate similar elements into her own wardrobe for the ongoing film promotions.

Janhvi’s candid acknowledgment of her fashion inspiration from Zendaya demonstrates her willingness to embrace and learn from the style choices of other successful actresses in the industry. This openness and adaptability can be seen as a positive attribute, as Janhvi seeks to develop her own unique fashion identity while drawing inspiration from a renowned fashionista like Zendaya. 

Replying to the question, she said, “Yes, I think I am very heavily inspired by what she [Zendaya] did for her Challengers and Dune promotions. And not just her, even Uorfi [Javed]. How creative she is with her fashion. I feel like as actors we all are encouraged to kind of do method dressing or dress similar to your characters while promoting a film. I haven’t really done it except for Dhadak but when I saw her doing it so well, dressed up in accordance to the theme of the film… I realized that as actors there is a good amount of attention put on how we look and how we dress, and if I can use that to bring attention back to my film then why not?”

Mother Zendaya showed us the way. She showed us how to do it really well. So yes, definitely inspired by that and just hoping to follow her footsteps,” she also added.  

Janhvi has been channeling Zendaya’s style for her own film promotions. For instance, she recently sported a top with the number 6 printed on it, which is a direct nod to her character’s jersey number in the film. Furthermore, Janhvi wore a red cut-out dress with cricket balls pinned on the back, reflecting the film’s theme of her character’s journey to become a cricketer.

Beyond Mr & Mrs Mahi, Janhvi also has other exciting projects in the pipeline, including Ulajh and her Telugu debut with Jr NTR’s upcoming action-thriller Devara: Part 1.
