Amid widespread rumors, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has firmly denied any involvement in a film based on the sensational Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. Instead, the project titled “Honeymoon in Shillong” will be helmed by director S.P. Nimbawat, a filmmaker recognized for bringing real-life stories to the screen.
The film is set to chronicle the tragic events surrounding the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who was killed in Meghalaya while on his honeymoon. The plot, marked by betrayal and shocking twists, drew heightened public attention when Raja’s wife Sonam and her suspected lover were arrested as prime accused. Seeking to share their side of the story and present the true circumstances of the crime, Raja’s family has officially granted its consent for the film.
S.P. Nimbawat revealed that “Honeymoon in Shillong” aims not only to unravel the drama behind the headline-making murder but also to address the larger theme of betrayal and its devastating consequences. The film will be shot predominantly in Indore, Raja’s hometown, with sequences filmed in scenic locations across Meghalaya, where the crime occurred.
For Raja’s family, this project is more than just a movie—it’s a quest for justice and an opportunity to clear misconceptions about Meghalaya, ensuring the tragedy is viewed in its true light. The cast is yet to be announced, but with the script ready and shooting schedules being chalked out, “Honeymoon in Shillong” promises to be a gripping retelling of a real-life horror that shook the nation.
