Gully Boy Sequel: Vicky Kaushal and Ananya Panday Considered for Lead Roles

The 2019 film “Gully Boy,” directed by Zoya Akhtar, was a significant success in Indian cinema. It told the story of Murad, a young man from Mumbai’s Dharavi slum, who pursued his dream of becoming a rapper. The film starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles and received widespread acclaim.

Recent reports suggest that a sequel to “Gully Boy” is being planned. Sources indicate that actors Vicky Kaushal and Ananya Panday are in discussions to play the main characters in this new installment. Arjun Varain Singh, known for directing “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,” is expected to helm the project. He believes that Ananya Panday would be an excellent choice for the female lead, having previously worked with her. Vicky Kaushal has reportedly been associated with the sequel for some time. 

As for the original cast, it appears unlikely that Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Siddhant Chaturvedi will reprise their roles in the sequel. However, there is speculation that if “Gully Boy 2” performs well, a third film could be developed, potentially reuniting the original cast.
