After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the Bollywood industry has been facing a tough time. It was nepotism and movie mafia in the beginning, but went on to drugs and narcotics. Superstars like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor etc were interrogated by NCB officials. Many News channels like Times Now and Republic TV and TV anchors like Arnab Goswami has also been trying to solve the SSR death case. And this has given rise to a war between Bollywood and media, which is supposedly led by Farhan Akhtar.
The Indian media completely focused on every detail of SSR case and also tried to bring the news in front of public. Bollywood Industry was not ok with it and stood against media.
A total of 34 top producers in the film industry and 4 of the film associates, filed a lawsuit in the Delhi HC on Monday. The lawsuit seeks for restraining these news channels and anchors from making “irresponsible, derogatory and defamatory remarks”. The lawsuit is filed against Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and journalist Pradeep Bhandari of the channel, and Times Now’s Editor-in-Chief Rahul Shivshankar and its prominent anchor, Navika Kumar, as respondents. The production companies include those run by Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and Ajay Devgn.
According to reports, it was Farhan Akhtar who suggested to take this step against the two news channels, as these two channels were hammering at the film industry relentlessly for the past four months.
A source said, “Though he won’t take credit for it, the lawsuit against Times Now and Republic TV was Farhan Akhtar’s idea. All the other producers felt as disgusted by the attack by the two news channels. But if Farhan hadn’t taken the initiative, they wouldn’t have come forward to take the slanderous foursome to court finally.”
