This Monday, Goa Police Crime Branch claimed to have busted a drugs racket as they arrested three people, out of which one was an assistant film producer from Mumbai. They said that they had seized ecstasy drug from them.
One of the accused Valentine Pereira, 35, worked as an assistant film producer in Mumbai as said by the Superintendent of Goa Police (Crime Branch) Shobhit Saxena. He also told that MDMA valued at Rs 8.5 lakh was seized on Sunday. He further said that the siezed drug was to be used for New Year celebrations in the coastal state.
Goa Police also arrested two others with Valenine namely, Ayan Ali, 42, a businessman from Hyderabad, and another Mumbai resident Strome Fernandes, 27. As per the police, they also took under their custody a Mercedes-Benz car that was registered in Telangana in which the three had driven to Goa.
“Valentine has worked as an assistant producer for some movies… their interrogation is going on to see where they procured the MDMA from. We will work on this case further to look for more leads. They had come to Goa for New Year party,” Goa Police Official said.
