The upcoming war action film Pippa features Ishaan Khatter who will play Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. Reports suggest that actors Soni Razdan who will play Ishaan’s mother and, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli in the roles of Ishaan’s reel siblings will be joining the star cast. This war drama directed by Raja Krishna Menon is based on a book titled ‘The Burning Chaffees’ written by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. It is co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.
The book tells the story of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta who was the 45th Cavalry tank squadron. During the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, he fought on the eastern front, along with his siblings

The title of the film highlights the Russian war tank PT-76, that was popular as Pippa.
