The sad demise of Sushant Singh Rajput was a shock for the entire nation. He was at the peak of his career and had a promising future. He proved his talent with his acting skills seen in MS Dhoni, Kedarnath and Chhichhore. His last movie Dil Bechara had an OTT release because of the pandemic. The movie is a superhit and was entirely dedicated to SSR as a tribute from the debutant director Mukesh Chabbra. But do you know, Sushant decided to charge only half of his remuneration fee 6-8 crores. Read on further to know the details.
Dil Bechara is the official adaptation of Fault In Our Stars and is a directorial debut of Mukesh Chhabra. Sanjana Sanghi, the actress in the leading role too made her acting debut with the film. Since the film was going through a tough time in terms of finances and was on hold for a year, the late actor decided for a pay cut.
A close friend of Sushant revealed to a publication “Sushant usually charged to the tune of 6-8 crore for each movie that he took up. But for Dil Bechara, he only charged half the money. He got a little over Rs 3 crore for the film,”
On being asked why did Sushant did so, he replied. “This was Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut and they both shared a warm friendship. He had launched him and Sushant had promised Mukesh that he will do his first film. Dil Bechara, earlier titled Kizzie Aur Manny, took an extra year because of funding and a few internal changes that happened. So when Sushant agreed to do the film, he saw the challenges the team was facing and agreed to do it for half his fee,”
