The Delhi High Court has issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment, owned by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, along with several others in connection with a defamation lawsuit filed by former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede.

Wankhede filed the case claiming that his reputation was damaged by a web series that allegedly portrayed him in a negative light. The series appeared to reference his involvement in high-profile drug cases, including the 2021 cruise ship raid that led to the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan.
The former officer alleges that the content depicted him unfairly and hurt his professional standing. He is seeking damages and an apology from the production house and other parties involved in creating and distributing the series.
The court has asked Red Chillies Entertainment and other accused parties to respond to the allegations. This legal battle adds another chapter to the controversies surrounding Wankhede, who has faced various allegations himself during and after his tenure with the Narcotics Control Bureau.

The case highlights ongoing tensions between media portrayals and individual rights, particularly when content appears to draw from real-life events and personalities. The court will hear further arguments as the parties present their responses to the defamation claims.
