Deepika Padukone set to begin filming The Intern remake in January 2024

Deepika Padukone announced in 2021 that she would be doing a Hindi remake of the popular Hollywood film The Intern with Rishi Kapoor. However, after Rishi Kapoor’s unfortunate passing, Amitabh Bachchan was cast instead. Despite initial rumors of cancellation, recent updates reveal that Deepika is currently planning the movie’s schedule.

As per a news report, Deepika Padukone’s second production venture, The Intern, will have her as both producer and actor, but it faced delays. The movie is now set to start filming in the first quarter of 2024, post the release of Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor.

Filming is expected to begin in January or February if all goes well, with Deepika joining the first schedule. The starting date for Big B’s filming remains uncertain.

The remake’s first look poster was unveiled in 2021, indicating a joint production by Sunil Kheterpal, Warner Brothers India, Ka Productions, and Azure Entertainment. The screenplay, adapted by Akshat Ghildail, was initially planned for a summer 2022 release.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone will be seen next in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter, an aerial action film alongside Hrithik Roshan, Anil Kapoor, and Karan Singh Grover, scheduled for release on January 25, 2024.
