Boney Kapoor reveals his mother asked Sridevi to tie him a rakhi after learning about their relationship

In a recent interview, Boney Kapoor, the producer who had a controversial encounter with a vendor over unpaid dues, shared some insights into his personal life. His marriage to the late actor Sridevi and subsequent separation from his wife Mona had received significant attention from gossip columns. 

During a conversation with Zoom TV, Boney discussed his mother’s reaction to his relationship with Sridevi. According to him, while his wife was already aware of his feelings for Sridevi, his mother found out about it at a later time. Kapoor did not provide further details about the specific circumstances or his mother’s response. This revelation sheds light on the dynamics within his family and the challenges he faced as a result of his romantic involvement with the renowned actor.

 He said, “My mother could see (my feelings for Sridevi). On one of the Raksha Bandhans, she gave a thaali (puja plate) with rakhi to Sridevi and asked her to tie me a rakhi (laughs). Sridevi just went to the room and I told her, ‘Don’t worry, don’t bother, keep this thaali here.’ She didn’t understand what the rakhi was all about.”

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi got married in 1996 and have two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi, both of whom are pursuing acting careers. Before his marriage to Sridevi, Boney was previously married to Mona Shourie and they have two children, Arjun and Anshula. In a recent interview, Boney discussed how it took time for his children to accept his remarriage and opened up about dealing with Arjun’s anger and frustration after his divorce with Mona.
