Birthday Boy Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor, has turned 32 today and is looking in a fine tune to pursue ahead. Born to an actor family, the artist was initially spotted in a music video and as a Background dancer in Subhash Ghai’s “Taal”. Apart from his acting skill, the actor is well versed with different sort of dance, giving him a separate individuality.

Shahid Kapoor debuted opposite Amrita Rao in “Ishq Vishq”, proving to be the commercial hit of the year, and bringing the Filmfare title for the best Debut. The Actor was on the verge with his name accompanying the list of the better artists demanded by the Filmmakers.

There are two kinds of opinion in the film industry about Shahid Kapoor. There are those who think Shahid Kapoor is easily one of the best star-actors in the post-Aamir Khan generation, and those who think he is messed it up with his attitude. But no one disputes Shahid’s talent.

Raj Kumar Santoshi and Prabhu Deva  swear by Shahid’s versatility and want to work with him again. Santoshi says, “I always knew Shahid was extremely talented. Now when I’ve worked with him, I am amazed at how versatile he really is. He handles both the comic and dramatic scenes with equal ease. His mother-son scenes with Padmini Kolhapure brought tears to my eyes. And he is so hands-on the sets, its delight to work with an actor so focused on his work. I am definitely working with Shahid again.”

Prabhu Dheva feels there is a terrific action star hidden in Shahid. He is an amazing dancer….We will try to tap the action side of his personality in Rambo Rajkumar.

Producer Sheetal Talwar in whose film Mausam Shahid was directed by his father Pankaj Kapoor feels the young Kapoor has huge untapped potential.

Bejoy Nambiar in whose next film Shahid apparently plays a psychologically disturbed character says, “Shahid is a very good actor. Kaminey blew my mind. Actually so did bits of Fida. I feel he’s very versatile though he’s known mainly for his romantic roles. I feel there is a lot more potential in there.”

After having lent his name to a million smash hit films, songs and also a zillion FMCG products, this dude is sitting on a goldmine, since he has his diary filled with appointments galore till the end of eternity! Such is his ‘demand’ over the ‘command’!

With today’s birthday, the irony is that he not grows a year old, but he grows ten years younger! Such is the greatness of this ‘sabka laadla chokra’ called Shahid Kapoor.
