Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was born on 27th December 1965 he is eldest son bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan. His father second wife is bollywood famous star Helen she is stepmother of Salman Khan. Salman have four siblings namely Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira and Arpita. Atul Agnihoitri is Salman’s brother-in-law married with Salman’s sister Alvira. Salman Khan has done his schooling from St. Stanislaus High School – Bandra. Salman’s paternal grandfather was a Muslim from Afgahnistan who later on immigrated to India and go settled in Indore and Khan’ mother is reported to be a Maratha Hindu therefore his family celebrates Islamic and Hindu Festivals like Maha Shivaratri and Ganesh Chaturthi. Salman describe himself half Muslim and Half Hindu.
Salman Khan has done about 80 Hindi Movies. Salman Khan made his debut in 1988 in movie Biwi Ho To Asii. But profitable he achieved success with his first hit movie Maine Pyar Kiya Which released in 1989 therefore he received Filmfare Award For Best Male Debut. Till date almost every movie of Salman Khan has done good business movies are Saajan (1991), Hum Aapke Hai Kaun (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Judwaa (1997), Pyar kiya to darna Kya (1998), Biwi No. 1 (1999), Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999), he his first hero who have appeared in most highest grossing film for consective 9 nine years during his career and this record is still unbroken. Out of nine his eight movies so far has accumulated gross earnings of more than Rs.100 Crores (US$18.2 million) worldwide. Salman Khan won Filmfare Award as a Best Supporting Actor for his guest appearance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1999.
In 2000 Salman Khan acted in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. These movie did average business at box-office. In 2003 he acted in movie Tere Naam which got him critical acclamation and this movie was super hit at the box-office. Salam’s successful run continued with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2007) & No Entry (2005). Partner (2008) was a hit. In 2009 his movie Wanted was block buster hit. After going through few flops Salman Khan was seen in movie Dabangg which was released in 2010 and this movie broke all the previous record and therefore became second highest grossing Indian movie of all time for this movie he received Star Screen Best Actor Award and was also nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award as well. And his other hits were Ready, Bodyguard released in 2011. And later on in 2012 he was seen in Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2 and these movie were blockbuster hits too. Till date Salman khan is going through number of controversies including certain legal trobles. As on 28 September 2002, he got arrested for rash and negligent driving. As a car he was driving ran into bakery in Mumbai unfortunately one person who was sleeping on the pavement outside the bakery died at spot and another three persons got injured in the mishap. Therefore police have put charges of culpable homicide against him, but later dropped. Later on 17th 2006, Salman Khan was sentenced to one year in prison for hunting the Chinkara, an endangered species. Though the sentence was stayed by high court after he went of appeal. Therefore on 10 April 2006, he was sentenced five-year jail term and was sent to remanded to jail at Jodhpur till 13 April after that Salman Khan was released on bail. later on 24 July 2012, Rajasthan High Court finalized charges against him and his colleagues for killing of black buck endangered species and ordered to start of the trial.
Salman’s relationship with actress Ashwarya Rai became talk of media and town. After the break-up in March 2002, Ashwarya Rai accused him of harassing her.In her report she claimed that Salman Khan had not been able to come to terms with their break-up and was hounding her; therefore parents of Ashwarya Rai lodged a complaint against him. During 2005 the recording of threatening was shown on news channels and same was handed to Mumbai police. Through this call it came out that Salman Khan threatened Rai, in an attempt to compel her to come out at social events held by Mumbai crime figures. Later tape was sent to Forensic lab which concluded that it was fake recording.
Salman Khan again got into controversy when he said during an interview to a Pakistani channel that the 26/11 attacks got a lot of attention because the “elite” were targeted. And he also said that Pakistan should not be blamed for it, and that the Indian security forces had failed. Due to his comments people and political parties came out on roads and asked Salman to appolzise for his comment in public. Later on Khan later apologized for his comments.
Salman Khan usually visit sick children in hospitals & donates blood. He is running charitable organization named ‘Being Human’ He is also good in painting and swimming. Salman Khan is at number four Indian who has his wax statue at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.
