Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit was born on 15th May 1967 in a Marathi Family. Her father name is Shankar Dixit and mothers name is Snehlata Dixit. She did her schooling from Divine Child High School Mumbai and then went to Mumbai University for doing her studies in microbiology. She is also a well trained Kathak Dancer. On 17th October 1999 she got married to Shriram Madhav Nene a UCLA trained cardiovascular surgeon who practice in Denver. From her wedlock she gave birth to two sons Arin and Rayaan. After marriage she got shifted to Denver where she stayed for about a decade. Later on October 2011 she shifted back to Mumbai along with her family. Madhuri is also famous for Ek-Do-Teen girl and Dhak-Dhak diva who has allured our hearts
She made her first debut in bollywood while acting in movie Abodh in 1984. She then acted in movie Tezaab in 1988 from this movie she received public recognition as actress. After that she was stared in movie Ram Lakhan (1989), Parinda (1989), Kishen Kanhaiya (1990) and Prahaar (1991). Madhrui won her first Filmfare award as a Best Actress for her performance in movie Dil (1990). After that she was starred in movie Saajan (1991), Beta (1992), Khalnayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), Raja (1995) and Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997). All these movies did good business at the box-office. She won Filmfare awards for Best Actress in movie like Beta, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun and Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Madhuri did astonishing performance in Prakash Jha’s Mrityudand released in (1997) and with her depiction of the courtesan character played as Chandramukhi in Devdas (2002). In 2001 she was awarded National Citizen award for her excellence in number of activities affecting national life.
After long period staying away from movies she returned baaack with a movie Aaja Nachle released in 2007, but anyhow this movie was unable to attract audience and did not do good business at the box office as collection was very low.
Madhuri also appeared in television shows such as Nach Balliye and Jhalak Dikhala Ja.
Till date she has received number of awards like Padma Shir Award one of India Fourth highest civilian award. She received 1 IIFA best actress award, Four Filmfare awards, one Filmfare best supporting actress award and also received Filmfare special award for completing twenty five years in Indian film industry for entertaining her fans.
