Veteran actor, director, and producer Dheeraj Kumar passed away on July 15, 2025, in Mumbai at the age of 79 due to complications from pneumonia. He had been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, placed on a ventilator, but sadly could not recover.
Dheeraj Kumar rose to fame in the 1960s after being a finalist in a talent show alongside Subhash Ghai and Rajesh Khanna. He acted in notable Hindi films like Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Sargam, and Heera Panna, and appeared in 21 Punjabi films. In 1986, he founded Creative Eye Limited, a production house known for popular mythological shows like “Om Namah Shivay.” His contributions earned him a lasting place in Indian cinema and television.
His family released a statement confirming his death and requested privacy, expressing gratitude for the support and prayers received. Colleagues and fans are mourning the loss of a respected and gentle industry figure.
