Recently singer approached Bombay High Court to protect his personality rights as Al technology is being used to voice over singers voice for the same Bombay High Court said AI Tools Used To Create Arijit Singh’s Voice Violate ‘Personality Rights’.

According to report Bombay High Court observed that while “”freedom of speech and expression allows for critique and commentary, but it doesn’t grant the license to exploit a celebrity’s persona for commercial gain”.

Bombay High Court gave sigh of relief to Arjit observing artificial intelligence (AI) tools generating content by using a celebrity’s voice, image or other attributes without consent violate “personality rights”.

According to report after listening Arijit Singh’s plea Justice RI Chagla pasad interim ordre stating that celebrities are particularly vulnerable to unauthorised generation of content with the help of AI tools, order also restrains eight online platforms from using Arijit Singh’s “personality rights”. For the same all eight platforms has been asked remove all such content as well as voice conversion tools.
