Anupam headed for the “Oscars”

Anupam Kher is very excited about the big win of his Hollywood film at the Critic’s Choice Awards but couldn’t attend this ceremony, though; he says that he’ll surely make it to the Oscars. Well, his movie has got eight Oscar nominations.

When asked why he wasn’t there at the awards function, he says, “Actually, I’m not going for the Golden Globes either. I have my Bollywood film Special Chabbis coming up which is by the guy who gave me one of the best films of my life, A Wednesday. I can’t leave the promotions of that film and go – I didn’t want to.” But Anupam is all set to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards (in which he has a nomination, and later, the Oscars.

All the categories that we have been nominated for in the Oscars are powerful ones. But I am actually looking forward to the SAG Awards, because all the actors will be present there, and whether or not I win, just sharing the same table with stars like Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper is going to be the most brilliant moment of my life.” He humbly says, “Arrey baba, I haven’t thought that far, I want to remain on the ground.rght now, one step at a time. My B-wood film comes first,” he says.

A great actor as he is, acted in his first Hindi film as a leading man in Mahesh Bhatt’s “Saransh”, which immediately established him as someone who knows the craft. His first British film was Gurinder Chadha’s “Bend It Like Beckham”, which was a huge international success. And now his first American film, “Silver Linings Playbook” is a roaring success. The film has proved to be a golden opportunity for him.”
