Aneet Padda and Fatima Sana Shaikh to Headline Nitya Mehra’s Hard-Hitting Courtroom Series ‘Nyaya’

Aneet Padda, fresh off her blockbuster debut in Saiyaara, is set to take a bold turn with the upcoming courtroom drama series Nyaya, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitya Mehra. Joining her in this intense project is Fatima Sana Shaikh, who will portray a resolute police officer determined to uphold justice.

Nyaya centers on a 17-year-old girl, played by Aneet Padda, who stands up against a powerful spiritual leader after surviving sexual assault. The storyline is inspired by real events, delving into the complex intersections of faith, systemic power, and the quest for justice in contemporary India. Fatima Sana Shaikh’s character serves as the backbone of law enforcement in the narrative, highlighting the moral struggles of a principled cop facing institutional resistance.

Backed by Applause Entertainment in association with Mangata Films, the series also stars Arjun Mathur, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Raghubir Yadav, and Rajesh Sharma, promising a powerhouse ensemble. Notably, Nyaya was filmed before Padda’s theatrical rise with Yash Raj Films, and is set for release on a major OTT platform soon.
