“Amar Singh Chamkila” by Imtiaz Ali arrives on Netflix on this date

Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film, “Amar Singh Chamkila,” featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, is highly anticipated this year. It tells the untold true story of Punjab’s legendary rockstar, Amar Singh Chamkila, often hailed as the Elvis Presley of Punjab and the highest record-selling artist of his era. The movie is scheduled to release on April 12, 2024, with a teaser clip released by the makers on Monday.

The music for the film is composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamli. Both Diljit and Parineeti have contributed their voices to the film’s songs. 

“Amar Singh Chamkila” promises to capture the essence of live music, with recordings made on-site, showcasing the rawness and energy of each moment. Diljit and Parineeti will perform live in the Akhadaas, adding to the film’s authenticity.
