Bollywood actor-producer Ajay Devgn all set with sports biopic based on football titled “Maidan” , in upcoming project actor is going to ease role of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim who inspired his team to bring first gold for India.

Upcoming biopic is set in back drop of 50 and 60’s which was believed to be golden era for Indian football, movie showcase determination of a coach who created magic on final match and made Nation proud, as despite two players injured seriously team managed to win match by 2-1 in 1962 at Jakarta Asian games.

Some reports suggest night before final match coach had meeting with players and said Tomorrow you have to give one gift to me, and that is Gold for that you have to defeat South Korea team, and it was surprising team won final match and got gold by defeating South Korea team by 2-1 in finals.

Great Indian football coach passed away at very small age he was only 54 years old.

In upcoming biopic actor is going to share screen space with south actress Kirti Suresh

Its happening first time Ajay is going to do sports biopic.

Upcoming sports biopic is going to be directed by Amit Ravindranath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor in collaboration with Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta.

On work front actor is busy with shot of his ongoing project Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior and Bhuj: The Pride of India.
