Ajay Devgn recently shared his thoughts on the lack of “men” in today’s Bollywood. In an interview on *The Ranveer Show*, he talked about how Bollywood used to have actors like Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, and Amitabh Bachchan, who had a strong and authentic on-screen presence. Devgn emphasized that being a “man” on-screen isn’t about building a muscular body but about having a powerful attitude.
He explained, “In today’s world, you don’t see many dominating male personalities. They’re mostly boys; we don’t see ‘men-men’ anymore. In previous generations, including mine, actors like Jackie, Sunny, and Amitabh embodied that strength.” Devgn pointed out that when Akshay Kumar or Sunny Deol took on action scenes—like Sunny’s famous hand pump scene—audiences believed they could genuinely perform such feats, and they applauded.
He clarified that he wasn’t targeting any specific actor but felt this shift applies to an entire generation. According to Devgn, changes in upbringing have influenced the attitude and approach of today’s actors, making them different from the past’s iconic “men” of Bollywood.
