Aditya Dhar’s film with Ranveer on hold after budget cuts

Ranveer Singh is busy filming Don 3. He also had another action movie lined up with director Aditya Dhar (known for Uri). But that movie seems to be delayed. This might be because of the recent movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan doing poorly at the box office, even though it cost a lot of money to make.
Studios are worried about spending too much on big action movies right now, so Ranveer and Aditya’s film might have to wait. A report of a close source quoted, “Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar are very keen to make their first collaboration very special. They want to mount the film like the biggest action thriller set against the backdrop of politics and gang wars. The vision to make this requires a big budget and they are not able to align their vision with their studio partner.”
The report further says the movie might be too expensive to make right now. But director Aditya Dhar is really set on making the film. So, he’s trying to rewrite the script to make it cheaper. The source also reported, “The market is not lucrative as the digital streaming market has come down in the last 2 years. With films not fetching the requisite value of digital rights, the studios have asked a lot of directors to rework their budgets. Aditya Dhar is now working to get budgets in place.”
